The Wave...of American Flavors located at Disney's Contemporary Resort will close for refurbishment later this month, but guests will have another nearby breakfast destination to choose from.
The Wave is scheduled to close on July 16, robbing the resort of its sole table service breakfast option. Disney plans to vill the void by opening California Grill during the morning hours.
According to a message posted on The Wave's dining homepage, "for a limited time during this closure, you'll be able to enjoy the breakfast menu served at California Grill."
The dining reservation page for California Grill has not been updated to reflect breakfast service, rather guests should book their meal at The Wave. From July 16 through the end of the closure, seating will be provided in the California Grill dining room. Breakfast will be served from 7:30am to 11am daily.
The Contemporary is currently in the midst of a guest room renovation adding elements which echo to the Disney/Pixar film "The Incredibles." Disney has not commented on plans for The Wave's refurbishment, but some have speculated that the "Incredibles" theme may extend to the dining space as well. No completion date has been revealed, although Disney claims The Wave will reopen in time for Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary celebration beginning on October 1, 2021.
