Disney's Contemporary Resort will lose one of its dining options for most of the summer.
The Wave...of American Flavors is set to close for refurbishment on July 16, 2021. The project is expected to last about 2 months, with the restaurant reopening in time for Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary celebration on October 1.
Other dining options at the resort will remain available including quick service restaurant Contempo Cafe and table service dining at Chef Mickey's and California Grill. Disney recently announced that Chef Mickey's will expand service in July to include both breakfast and dinner.
The resort's hotel rooms are in the early stages of a refurbishment which is expected to introduce theming from the Disney Pixar film "The Incredibles." Although Disney has not revealed plans for The Wave, speculation the refubishment may introduce Pixar theming to the dining venue.
