It appears Disney will miss its original target of wrapping up work in Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village by the start of November.
Back in August, crews started a multi-stage renovation of the lobby and surrounding areas at Kidani Village. The orignal plan called for phased updates to the lobby and front desk, Johari Treasures, north and south lobby corridors and the Community Hall. The goal was to have all facilities open by November 6, 2026.
However the project is running behind schedule. Guests with arrival dates in early December are receiving notices that portions of the resort will still be closed during their stay:
We wanted to make you aware that Community Hall and the Palace Library will be unavailable during your visit. During this time, you're welcome to enjoy recreation activities at Simba's Clubhouse at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - Jambo House. Transportation will be available between Kidani Village and Jambo House for your convenience.
The exact end date remains unclear. Disney websites currently state that work will continue "through late 2026." The lobby was completely walled off during our visit in September, with Johari Treasures operating out of a temporary location.

All guest rooms at Kidani Village have been updated with new floor coverings, wall coverings, appliances and furnishings. Work is currently under way on similar guest room updates at Jambo House, with work expected to wrap-up in early 2027.
