Disneyland Buyers to Get 60 Day Priority on VGC

Grand Californian Hotel
As far back as October 2007 we reported that Disney Vacation Club members who have purchased their points via the Disneyland sales center would have an exclusive priority period to add-on at the Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Resort and Spa.  Now we have additional details regarding this priority window.

According to Mike Brunson, Sales Director for DVC's California branch, Grand Californian points will first be offered to all individuals who made their initial purchase through a California-based sales Guide.  Those owners will have a sixty days (60) to add-on at the Grand Californian before sales will be offered to other DVC members and/or the general public.

Eligible members will include those who purchased their first contract through the Disneland sales center from its opening until roughly the period that they begin selling Grand Californian points.

DVC intends to place a cap on the number of points that each member can purchase during this priority period.  That cap has yet to be determined.   At this point Brunson has no information regarding when points will be offered for sale, when point charts or annual dues will be published, or when pricing will be announced.

The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Resort will have only 50 two-bedroom equivalent units, making it the smallest DVC resort by far.  The resort expansion is currently under construction and scheduled to open sometime in late 2009.
