Anaheim Vote May Be Delayed

Grand Californian Hotel

In a move that could eventually pave the way for a DVC resort on or near Anaheim’s Disneyland Resort, a California developer will ask Anaheim City Council to delay a vote regarding the use of land adjacent to the Disneyland complex.

Disney execs have been battling with Anaheim City Council for several months now regarding the use of a nearby piece of land.  According to the Orange County Register, Disney would like the land for further resort development while the city council has been pushing a plan that would build a 1,500-unit public housing project.

Inside sources have previously indicated that Disney is poised to announce numerous expansion projects to its Anaheim theme park complex in the event that this dispute is resolved in their favor.  If nothing else, this move signifies that the parties are engaged in a dialogue which my eventually lead to an amicable resolution.
