The monorail station at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is closing for renovations in November and it will not be a quick project.

Great Ceremonial House

Disney has revealed that the Polynesian's monorail station will remain closed until July 2021. The closure was previously revealed to commence on November 2, several weeks after work begins on the lower level September 28.

Crews will use the time to update portions of the Great Ceremonial House including the port cochere (main entrance), check-in desk and the 2nd floor platform which provides access to Walt Disney World's signature transportation line.

During the closure, guests may walk to the Transportation and Ticket Center for ferry and monorail access to the Magic Kingdom. Bus transportation will be provided to all four theme parks and other on-property destinations. It is expected that direct boat service from the Polynesian to Magic Kingdom will resume soon. The resort's water launches have not been running since before the COVID-19 shutdown in March 2020.

Renovations will occur to the resort's lobby through summer 2021. All Polynesian hotel room are slated to remain closed, while the Disney Vacation Club villas continue to house guests.
