Several days after the expected March 1 start date, the Grand Floridian's Big Pine Key building has been cleared as workers begin its transformation into 202 new DVC rooms.  Each of the Resort Studios will be equipped with two queen size beds and a twin daybed, along with other expected hotel amenities.

Website WDWMagic.com has photos of the area with construction walls now in place.

The relative isolation of Big Pine Key within the center of the resort suggests that guests may see workers and equipment coming and going from the site with regularity. While Disney has been known to limit the most obtrusive tasks to late night hours, it will be impossible to completely mask traffic coming and going from the building.

At least half of the new Resort Studios are scheduled to debut in late June, a little more than three months from now. A more precise date for the resort's opening should be confirmed when DVC begins accepting reservations for the Resort Studios on March 14.
