As Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas approaches its November 1, 2020 reopening, Disney Vacation Club has announced some flexibility for owners whose points were impacted by COVID-19.
Aulani is one of two DVC resorts which remains closed today. Most members have received some relief for points impacted by the resort closures. Recently DVC announced additional measures to help Aulani owners.
Under the new guidelines revealed this week, previously banked Aulani points which are still available for use will be automatically extended through February 28, 2021. This provides owners with a 4-month window to use their points, during which rooms are likely to be available due to the continuing health crisis.
Other points remain subject to normal usage guidelines, although DVC will reportely allow points to be banked beyond the normal deadline. Under standard rules, members must bank their points within the first 8 months of the Use Year.
Current guidelines will require Hawaii visitors to submit proof of a negative COVID-19 test prior to their arrival or to quarantine for 14 days. Tourists may also be subject to testing or quarantine guidelines from their local municipalities upon return home.
The Villas at Disney's Grand California Hotel & Spa also remains closed with no estimated reopening.

As we previously shared, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa is working toward a phased reopening beginning on November 1, 2020.
To provide greater flexibility for Members with an ownership interest at Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, Ko Olina, Hawaii, we've modified our temporary policies regarding expiring Vacation Points for those with a reservation impacted by the Resort's closure. If you have previously banked Points that are still eligible for use, they will automatically be extended through Feb 28, 2021, and will be available online for use through the Member Online Booking tool once your Use Year has ended. This includes previously banked April, June, August, September, October, or December 2018 or February 2019 Aulani Use Year points. All other types of Points will follow their normal expiration process.
We encourage you to regularly visit the Aulani Resort and Disney Vacation Club websites for important information regarding your Membership and utilize the Member Online Booking Tool to book or modify a Disney Vacation Club Resort reservation.
