15-Month Annual Pass Renewals?

WDW Theme Park News

A poster on the DISboards (and Walt Disney World Cast Member) is reporting that beginning August 2, 2009, most Annual Passes will renew for a period of 15 months instead of the current 12 months.

According to the information provided by "Cheshire Figment":

Effective August 2, 2009 renewals within 30 days before or after the expiration date will receive an additional three months and will be valid for 15 months from the expiration date of the current Pass.  Renewal Exchange Vouchers sold prior to August 2, 2009 may be redeemed with this offer provided the renewal is occurring August 2, 2009 or later.

The notice did not specifically state that Disney Vacation Club Annual Passes are included in this offer.  However, every other variety of Annual Pass for the 4 major theme parks is included.

It is also not known if this is a limited time offer vs. a global policy change, or how renewal pricing would be impacted by introduction of the 15-month term.

Reminder that multiple sources are reporting ticket price increases will go into effect on Sunday, August 2nd.  The extent of the price increase is not known at this time.  Annual pass vouchers can be purchased via DVCMember.com through August 1st at the pre-increase prices.  Magic Your Way passes are also available directly from Disney or through third-party ticket vendors like Orlando Fun Tickets.
