The final Disney Vacation Club hurricane-related closure will be lifted on Monday morning.
Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort is scheduled to reopen on Monday, September 18, 2017. This marks the final Disney Vacation Club resort to recover from the effects of Hurricane Irma.
Most DVC properties remained operational during the storm with many housing guests who were escaping areas targeted for potential devastation. Closures included Hilton Head, Disney's Vero Beach Resort and the Treehouse Villas at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.
Vero Beach reopened on Thursday, September 14 with the Treehouse Villas following on Sunday, September 17.
There is no word on storm damage to Hilton Head but the fast turnaround suggests minimal impact. The Hilton Head resort closed on Sunday, September 9 with storms hitting their peak sometime on Monday, September 11.
In 2016, Hilton Head was closed for 4 weeks to recover from damage caused by Hurricane Matthew.
Thanks to Denise for the heads-up!
