Located near the southern tip of South Carolina, it appears that the Disney Vacation Club property on Hilton Head Island will be spared any direct impact from hurricane Irene. The storm's projected travel path has it making landfall along the cost of North Carolina sometime early Saturday morning.
However, Disney officials will continue to assess the situation and respond appropriately. A Disney spokesperson told DVCNews.com "[t]he safety of our guests is our first priority. We will continue to monitor the reports and take appropriate measures to protect our guests, cast and property."
The local forecast calls for rain, winds approaching 35 MPH and increased wave activity off the coast of Hilton Head Island over the next several days.
