Visits to timeshare resorts in Hawai'i--including Disney's Aulani resort--are subject to a usage tax imposed by the state.  While the fees are currently modest, lawmakers are considering changes to the tax rate which could nearly quadruple the amounts paid by timeshare guests.

Beginning later this year, guest to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida will be able to tour model units of the Aulani villas being constructed in Hawai'i.

The Honolulu Star Advertiser is reporting a fire on Thursday evening at Disney's Aulani resort in Hawai'i.

HonoluluMagazine.com is reporting that Disney has hired Patrick Callarec as executive chef at the Aulani resort and timeshare in Oahu.  The story provides some background information on Callarec and the dining experiences planned for Aulani.  However, readers may want to ignore the author's editorial comments regarding Disney food--sounds like his experiences did not go far beyond burgers and fries at Tomorrowland Terrace.
