Beginning November 8, 2018, cars will follow a new route to arrive at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
The new parking entrance for Disney's Hollywood Studios will officially open on Thursday, November 8. The new access point has most vehicle traffic using either Victory Way--near Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney's Art of Animation Resort--or Osceola Parkway to enter the theme park.
This entrance replaces the two current access points off of Buena Vista Drive near Disney's BoardWalk and World Drive & Osceola Parkway.
Expect signage throughout Walt Disney World to be updated to reflect the new route.
When the theme park was originally conceived in the late 1980s, the World Drive / Osceola Parkway entrance was intended to be used by most arriving guests. However, the subsequent buildup of resort hotels along Buena Vista Drive lead to a far greater volume of traffic through the secondary entrance than designers had ever intended.
With the opening of the new main entrance, the Buena Vista Drive access will be restricted to bus traffic only, and the World Drive ramp will be limited to Cast Member traffic.
This new parking entrance is one of many enhancements under way at Disney's Hollywood Studios, leading up to the fall 2019 debut of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.
