Disney Vacation Club has streamlined how its various resorts are categorized, and will soon be adding Shanghai Disney Resort to the list of eligible point redemption destinations.
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser
In correspondance to its members, Disney Vacation Club has announced that it is changing the manner in which its various resort "collections" are labeled and organized. The new Disney Collection features sub-categories of Disney Stays and Disney Experiences. Disney Stays includes both the fifteen native DVC resorts as well as traditional Disney hotel options like Disney's Yacht Club and Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel.
Disney Experiences includes more immersive vacation destinations like Disney Cruise Line, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, Adventures by Disney and National Geographic Expeditions.
Later in 2022, DVC members can begin using points toward reservations for Shanghai Disney Resort. The exact date has not been revealed.
Meanwhile the World Collection now includes options from new trading parter Interval International, as well as the former Concierge Collection.
Note that use of most destinations is subject to eligibility guidelines. Interval International trades, as well as stays at one's Home Resort are available to all members. Points purchased via the resale marketplace after March 21, 2011 cannot be used toward other non-DVC destinations in the Disney Collection or World Collection.
The new collections can be found on the DVC members-only website under the "Destinations" heading.
