The DVC members-only website has been updated to reflect a minimum 125-point ownership to access most member perks. The new disclaimer added to the site reads:

Effective October 19, 2020, to obtain a Disney Vacation Club Membership Card, Members must accumulate a total of at least 125 Vacation Points purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc.

The restriction was first introduced back in April 2016, at which time any amount of points purchased direct from DVC would make the member eligible for owner perks. In February 2018 a minimum of 75 points was added, and later increased to 100 points in September 2019. Rumors of the 125 point minimum first surfaced in August. The new threshold goes into effect today without any formal advance notice.

Members who meet the minimum point requirement are issued a blue member ID card. With this card, members have access to a variety of dining, recreation and shopping discounts including the current 30% off at most Disney-owned stores. The blue card is also required to access Walt Disney World Annual Pass discounts and to attend the popular Moonlight Magic after-hours events after-hours events

The 125-point minimum applies only to new buyers and those who did not already meet the previous minimums at the time of their purchase. Points for any Home resort purchased direct from Disney Vacation Club would apply toward the minimum.
