Website TouringPlans.com is reporting that Disney is readying an on-line check-in system for guests saying at Walt Disney World resorts, including the Disney Vacation Club properties. The system could be ready to debut as early as January 2009.
According to the report on TouringPlans, guests would be able to log-into a predetermined website up to 10 days before arrival and provide their credit card number, names of the individuals in their party, etc.
A welcome folder with their Key to the World Card will be waiting at a designated Disney’s Online Check-In area in the resort hotel lobby. Guests will need to present valid photo ID to pick up the folder and complete check-in.

Additionally, MousePlanet.com is reporting that Disney already owns the domain names DisneyOnlineCheckin.com and DisneysOnlineCheckin.com, which could be utilized when this service comes on-line.
If this report is accurate, it is just one of a number of technology initiatives in the works for Walt Disney World guests. Disney previously confirmed that it is working to bring Advanced Dining Reservations to the Internet, and that a partnership with Verizon will soon put trip planning and other vacation tools onto customers cell phones.
