DVC Policies & Procedures

On the advice of public health officials, The Walt Disney Company has announced closing dates for most of its resort hotels and stores.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

The resorts of Walt Disney World and Disney's Vero Beach Resort will close as of 5:00 pm on Friday, March 20, 2020. The closure impacts all Disney Vacation Club resorts at those locations.

Disney's update did not include any details on Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort or Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, both of which are currently open. Disneyland Resort hotels are scheduled to close on Monday, March 16.

Additionally, all Disney retail venues will close beginning March 17. This includes Disney-owned shops and restaurants in Downtown Disney, Disney Springs and all Disney Stores in North America.

No anticipated reopening dates have been shared. Last week Disney announced the closing of its domestic theme parks through the end of March. However, on March 15 the Centers for Disease Control recommended a ban on public gatherings of 50 or more individuals for a period of at least 8 weeks.
