The Florida counties of Orange, Osceola and Indian River currently have a ban on certain burn-related activities due to drought and dry conditions.  Disney resort guests are prohibited from using charcoal grills at resorts including Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Old Key West Resort.

Several resorts have installed natural gas grills in recent years.  While these grills should be excluded from the uncontrolled burn restriction, some guests have reported that they were instructed not to use the gas grills by Disney Cast Members.

Resort campfire activities--which are typically hosted at gas-powered fire pits--have also been suspended indefinitely.

Guests with upcoming stays at Florida resorts who had planned to make use of the grilling facilities are advised to contact Disney Vacation Club Member Services to gain clarity on the current policy and discuss available options.

At this time the burn restriction does not appear to have impacted Walt Disney World theme park fireworks displays.
