Disney Cruise Line has announced that Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will be the third Disney Vacation Club property to offer accommodations to Disney Cruise Line guests. As of October 17, 2007 guests are able to book Saratoga Springs Studio, One and Two Bedroom Villas as part of a land sea package offered by DCL.
DVCNews.com has confirmed that Disney Vacation Club members will now be able to book a stay on points at Saratoga Springs, and arrange transportation from the resort to the cruise ship terminal at Port Canaveral through Member Services if the cruise portion is reserved using member points. If a member makes cash reservation with the line, they will be required to purchase transfer vouchers directly thru Disney Cruise Line.
Previously, members staying at Saratoga Springs were required to arrange for their own transportation to one of the existing Walt Disney World Resorts that offer this service, and then transfer to the Disney Cruise Line busses. The Yacht & Beach Club, and Animal Kingdom Lodge & Villas are the only other Disney Vacation Club properties that offer transportation to Port Canaveral.
According to Disney, the reason behind this new offering is a desire to offer cruise line guests a wider variety of accommodations.
