In the interest of allowing more members to enjoy the complimentary theme park access, Disney Vacation Club has taken steps to limit the number of Moonlight Magic events that a member can attend in a single year.
Moonlight Magic is one of the more popular Disney Vacation Club perks, allowing owners free and exclusive after-hours access to Disney parks on a handful of days throughout the year. However, with more than 4,000 DVC villas at Walt Disney World alone, event capacity limits typically mean that not all owners wishing to attend can secure a reservation.
Previously, Disney Vacation Club limited owners to one event per park, per year. Moonlight Magic events are commonly hosted at 5 different parks: EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Disney California Adventure. A single owner could theoretically attend up to five Moonlight Magic evenings under their own membershuip.
Beginning in 2025, Disney Vacation Club has split the registration into three "seasons", and will now limit owners to just one event per season. The groupings are as follows:
Winter
- Disney's Hollywood Studios January 26, 2025
- Disney California Adventure: February 3, 2025
- Disney's Animal Kingdom: February 12, 2025
Spring
- EPCOT: April 30, 2025
- Disney's Typhoon Lagoon: May 20 and June 9, 2025
Summer
- EPCOT: July 17, 2025
- Disney's Typhoon Lagoon: August 11, 2025
- Disney's Hollywood Studios: September 1, 2025
The new registration policy reads as follows:
"Please note that, in order to allow as many Members as possible to enjoy Disney Vacation Club Moonlight Magic, Members are eligible to register for one event date during each event season (Winter: January – February, Spring: April – June, Summer: July – September) regardless of whether your registered event date was confirmed during early registration or during general registration."
Registration for the winter season opens on January 15, 2025 for guests with a hotel reservation, with general registration following on January 17. See the complete list of registration dates for 2025 here.
