The Independence Day pool hopping blockout begins soon, plus a reminder that all Disney Vacation Club member perks are subject to periodic holiday suspensions.
Due to anticipated high crowd levels, DVC members are not permitted to pool hop between Saturday June 26 and Monday July 7, 2014. Pool hopping resumes on Tuesday July 8. Note that member pool hopping is always prohibited at a number of Walt Disney World pools including:
- Stormalong Bay and the quiet pool at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts
- Bay Cove Pool at Disney's Contemporary Resort
- All pools at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge & Villas
- All pools at Disney's Art of Animation Resort
During permitted periods, pool hopping is available to Disney Vacation Club members and any guests staying with them. Proof of DVC ownership may be requested at the hopping destination. Check with a front desk Cast Member before using resort facilities.
In addition to the pool hopping blockout, 2014 brought the introduction of blockout dates for all Disney Vacation Club member perks. On Friday July 4, 2014 all DVC perks are suspended. This includes dining discounts, shopping discounts, recreation discounts and more.
Additional perk blockout dates for 2014 include November 27 (Thanksgiving Day), December 24-25 and December 31.
