According to a message on DVCMember.com, there are still openings for the 2008 S.S. Member Cruise. Those with some interest in booking may want to peruse the member website along with information at www.dvcmembercruise.com. The cruise website currently contains information on the 2007 cruise, which should help give members' an idea of what to expect in '08.
Regarding the '08 cruise booking:
Member Services will resume normal operating hours beginning Monday, November 19, 2007, at 9:00AM EST. Limited availability remains onboard the S.S. Member Cruise 2008 sailing. Due to the popularity of this event, we're expecting high call volume on Monday. Therefore, your hold time may be unusually long. Thank you for your patience. Calls are answered in the order in which they're received, so please stay on the line once your call is connected. Hanging up to call back will only further delay your attempt to make a reservation. Please allow at least 30 minutes to confirm a reservation.

This is the first time a DVC Member Cruise that was open to all members failed to fill-up on the designated booking day. For member cruises through 2006, all cabins were filled before the close of business on Saturday. For the 2007 cruise DVC implemented a priority booking system in which members who had not previously cruised were given a preferential booking opportunity. Several weeks later a lottery system was to be used to fill the remaining openings, however the volume of interested members contacted indicates that the lottery may not have been necessary.
Four straight years' worth of member cruises may have diminished demand somewhat, but the '08 cruise is still destined to sell-out within a matter of days. Those who may still be considering the cruise are advised to contact Member Services on Monday. While the entire cruise may not sell-out immediately, certain cabin classes will inevitably sell-out.
