Disney Vacation Club is currently offering a "free vacation" in the form of one time use points with a new purchase or add-on at two properties.  

2016 ended on a positive note for direct sales of Disney Vacation Club points. In December 2016, 124,736 points were sold for the nine DVC resorts at Walt Disney World, a modest increase of 6.9% over the previous month. However, quarterly sales in 2016 for those same resorts recorded a healthy increase of 29.9% over the comparable three month period in 2015 (382,734 points in 2016 versus 294,686 points in 2015).

The direct price for Disney Vacation Club points will soon climb just a bit higher.

Direct sales of Disney Vacation Club points in November 2016 were down compared to prior months while increasing year-over-year for the same period in 2015.
