In December 2024, 193,023 Disney Vacation Club points were sold for the 12 DVC resorts located at World Disney World and The Villas at Disneyland Hotel.  It was the fourth best monthly total in calendar year 2024, only 45 points less than November’s total of 193,068 points. Year-over-year, December 2024 sales nearly doubled the 98,821 points sold in December 2023.

For the second month in a row, Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows led all resorts in sales, followed by Disney’s Riviera Resort and The Villas at Disneyland Hotel.  No other resort managed to reach the 10,000-point mark.

The largest deeds sold in December were two 700-point deeds and two 600-point deeds for the Polynesian.  The two largest multiple deed purchases were both for Riviera:  a 600-point purchase split evenly between two deeds and another 600-point purchase split between three deeds.

For calendar year 2024, 1,963,626 DVC points were sold for the twelve Walt Disney World resorts and Disneyland Hotel, which is a 13.9% decline from the 2,281,500 points sold in 2023.  Interestingly, the yearly total for 2024 is 0.6% higher than what yearly direct sales averaged (1,952,266 points) in the 13-year period from 2011 to 2023.  Riviera accounted for the most points sold in 2024 with 973,237 points.  Disneyland Hotel (269,989 points) and Polynesian (254,522 points) were a distant second and third.

Disney Vacation Club Direct Sales 2011 to 2024

In 2024, only once did a resort’s monthly sales reach 100,000 or more points (Riviera in July).  In 2023, there were six occasions when a resort’s monthly sales reached the 100,000 point mark:  Four times by The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and twice by Disneyland Hotel.

Disney’s Riviera Resort —  In December, 67,980 points were sold for the Riviera.  For the second month in a row, Riviera’s point total was second to the Polynesian.

Disney has sold 4,979,885 Riviera points, about 73.9% of the resort’s 6,739,966 total points.   It has averaged 73,188 points in monthly sales, which includes several months in 2020 when DVC sales were markedly depressed by the COVID-19 pandemic.  If future Riviera sales maintain that pace, it will be less than 23 months before the resort is completely sold out.

One Fixed Week deed was sold for Riviera in December: a Resort (Standard) View One-Bedroom Villa for week 42.   Disney has sold 139 Fixed Week deeds for the resort.

Disney has declared 294 of the Riviera’s 441 vacation homes for the timeshare inventory at the resort.  There are still 47 vacation homes that have not yet been declared and are still under the control of Disney.  The DVC inventory now accounts for 5,817,509 points, or 86.3% of the Riviera’s 6,7 million total points.

The Villas at Disneyland Hotel  In December, approximately 19,737 points were sold for Disneyland Hotel.  Disney has now sold 839,001 points, about 25.8% of the resort’s estimated 3,255,992 total points.

Since sales began in May 2023, the Disneyland Hotel has averaged 41,950 points per month.  In the last 12 months, however, sales have averaged only 22,499 points per month.  In 2024, the high point for sales was 35,237 points in July; the low point was 16,086 points in March.

Disney has declared 63 cabins for the timeshare inventory.  DVC members will be able to book using points up to 63 cabins on any given Use Day.  There are still another 300 cabins that have not yet been declared.  Disney will be able to use these 300 cabins for cash rentals or any other purpose it desires.

Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows  December was the second month in a row the Polynesian led all DVC resorts in sales with 83,206 points.  The Polynesian has now sold 246,009 points from residential units assigned to the new Island Tower

On December 10, 2024, Disney declared 14 more vacation homes for the resort’s timeshare inventory.  This latest declaration increases the number of vacation homes that DVC members can book using points from 40 to 54.  There are still 168 vacation homes at the Island Tower that have not yet been declared and are still under the control of Disney.

Based on the Public Offering Statements released by Disney in late December, it appears the Island Tower residential units have been allotted 3,608,934 points. So far, 849,652 of those points (23.5%) have been declared for the timeshare inventory.

Four Fixed Week deeds were sold for accommodations at the Island Tower  All four deeds were for Resort (Standard) View Tower Studios for weeks 36, 39, 49, and 51.  These deeds bring the total number of Island Tower Fixed Week deeds sold to 18.

The sales data includes all 12 DVC resorts at Walt Disney World, as well as Disney's Vero Beach Resort, and Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort.  Point sales data is not available for The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. The data is compiled from deeds filed by Disney Vacation Development and recorded with the Orange County (FL) Comptroller, the Indian River County (FL) Clerk of Court, and the Beaufort County (SC) Register of Deeds.  Thanks to Chris for assisting in the compilation of the sales data.
