Perhaps due to Disney Vacation Club's status as a timeshare, there are some limits to amenities provided to members. DVC villas do not receive clean towels or coffee refills daily. Villas do not offer bathrobes or turndown service. Unlike many other hotel chains, Disney does not provide newspapers, continental breakfasts or wireless Internet service.
Most people seem to contemplate a Disney Vacation Club purchase for a fair amount of time before taking the plunge. There are certainly negative aspects to joining DVC and buyers must become comfortable with both the pros and the cons before moving forward. Some are unable to satisfy those concerns and opt to forego DVC membership.
Eight of the ten existing Disney Vacation Club resorts are located adjacent to one of Disney's theme parks. Developing land currently owned is certainly much cheaper and buyers have exhibited a clear preference for Disney resorts near the parks.

The Bay Lake Tower's Top of the World lounge provides a unique alternative for those seeking to watch the nightly Magic Kingdom fireworks. The lounge and nearby viewing deck are sufficient to hold hundreds of individuals but access rules limit nightly crowds to just a fraction of that number. The lounge is currently available only to Bay Lake Tower guests who booked their trip through Disney Vacation Club (points or cash.)
