With the resale booking restrictions introduced earlier this year, the topic of certain members being "second class citizens" frequently arises.  While it may initially seem offputting to have one group treated differently than another, it stands to reason that many owners would benefit from such situations.  If resale buyers cannot book Disney Cruises, more availability remains for those who own direct purchase points.  If owners of a resort were given unit assigment priority (view, occupancy time), they would have a better chance of getting their ideal room than non-owners.

Topic:  Are there valid situations in which one group of DVC owners deserve to be treated better than another, or should absolute equality reign?

Disney Vacation Club has a long-standing policy of not allowing any members to obtain a late check-out.  Members are required to vacate their villa at 11am on the departure day regardless of plans, travel schedule, etc.  At the same time, Disney does make every effort to put incoming guests in rooms prior to the 4pm check-in time.  It seems that resorts should be able to allow some late departures if they were so willing, even though it would mean fewer incoming guests benefit from early villa access.   

Topic:  Should DVC resorts make an effort to accommodate late check-outs when possible?

Some of our weekly debate / discussion topics are designed to encourage members to really think about the Disney Vacation Club product.  Others are just for fun.  This one clearly falls into the latter category. 

Topic:  What is your favorite Disney theme park attraction?  (Feel free to list one for each theme park if you prefer.)

In recent weeks Disney's Aulani resort has been the subject of both positive and negative press.  Since its opening, many have been very impressed with the overall look of the resort, pool, spa and many other amenities.  However, Aulani has also been dogged by its Annual Dues miscalculation which will result in higher yearly payments by owners and taxes paid by all resort guests. 

Topic:  Have the last few weeks changed your attitude toward either purchasing points at or merely visiting Aulani ?

In recent years Disney has begun offering monthly payment plan for Annual Passholders at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The plans allow individuals to purchase an Annual Pass with a small downpayment followed by monthly installments on the reminder of the pass price. 

Thus far, the payment plans are limited to those who live in the geographic area surrounding the two US resort complexes. 

Topic:  Would your attitude / approach toward Disney park tickets change if payment plans were also available to Disney Vacation Club members ?
