Given adequate resouces (cash) it is possible to own enough Disney Vacation Club points to stay in a villa for weeks or months at a time. Of course, one must still deal with issues of 11/7 month bookings and the challenges of living out of a glorified hotel room.
Another option is to purchase a condo or other vacation property in the Orlando area for use as desired. Unfortunately this does not quite provide the full Disney resort hotel experience.
