DVCNews Debates: Management company

DVCNews Debates

mt_ignore:DVCNews Debates The entity known as Disney Vacation Club exists to manage the timeshare program (sales are handed by Disney Vacation Development.)  Responsibilities of the manager include acceptance and tracking of reservations, setting annual resort budgets, billing annual dues and so on.

However it is conceivable that Disney could someday decide to rid itself of the day-to-day managerial duties.  Management of the program could be farmed-out (sold) to another timeshare manager like Marriott, Wyndham or Bluegreen.  Current members would retain their Home resort ownership rights, but exact terms and conditions of the program's operation (booking windows, banking deadlines, cancellation policies, etc) would be subject to change.  Competion to book non-Home Disney resorts would undoubtedly increase, but members would also gain direct access to new destinations which are part of the other timeshare program.

Topic:  If another timeshare manager took control of Disney Vacation Club, would you sell your ownership?
