Seventh Declaration Adds More DVC Inventory at Copper Creek

Wilderness Lodge

For the seventh time since sales began in March 2017, Disney has declared more villas for the Disney Vacation Club inventory at Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Resort.

Copper Creek Deluxe Studio

On November 15, 2018, Disney declared five more Residential Units containing 19 vacation homes, which include four lakefront cabins, one dedicated two-bedroom villa, and 14 dedicated studios. One of the dedicated studios is in the alternate configuration which includes a separate living room area as part of the studio. The villa and studios are located on the first floor of the DVC wing of Wilderness Lodge.

This latest declaration accounts for 214,145 points, bringing the number of declared points at Copper Creek to 2,675,990 points, or 80.6% of the resort’s total points. This means that on any given Use Day DVC members can book up to 80.6% of Copper Creek’s vacation homes using points. There are only about 646,000 points still undeclared at Copper Creek.

So far, Disney has declared 142 of Copper Creek’s 184 vacation homes. By definition, each cabin, grand villa, dedicated studio, dedicated two-bedroom villa, and lock-off two-bedroom villa is considered to be a single vacation home. The numbers of declared and still undeclared accommodation type are as follows:

  • Cabins: 22 declared; 4 not yet declared
  • Grand Villas: 3 declared; 1 not yet declared
  • Dedicated Two-Bedroom Villas: 47 declared; 9 not yet declared
  • Lock-off Two-Bedroom Villas: 29 declared; 7 not yet declared
  • Dedicated One-Bedroom Villas: 17 declared; 3 not yet declared
  • Dedicated Studios: 24 declared; 18 not yet declared

Included in the declared accommodations are six studios with the larger alternate configuration that includes a living room area. Five of the alternate studios are part of lock-off two-bedroom villas. The alternate studio that is part of the latest declaration is the first dedicated alternate studio, meaning it is not attached to another villa.

CCV Studio Floorplans

It appears that Copper Creek’s first floor will be comprised mainly of dedicated studios. The seventh declaration only reveals part of the first floor, but 14 of the 15 vacation homes that face the Copper Springs pool are studios. It’s quite likely that the vacation homes on the first floor facing the Boulder Ridge Cove Pool will have the same layout, resulting in the first floor having 28 of Copper Creek’s 42 dedicated studios.

Before Disney can sell DVC points to the general public, it must first declare and add the points to the DVC inventory. Sales for Copper Creek have averaged about 140,000 points a month. If sales continue at the current pace, the latest declaration of 214,145 points should furnish Disney with enough inventory to support sales for less than two months. Thus, it is likely that another Copper Creek declaration will have to be made by early January 2019.
