Exterior refurbishment at Disney's Wilderness Lodge

Disney is gearing-up for a major construction project at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  The two most noteworthy elements of this project are construction of 26 waterfront bungalows or cabins similar to the structures recently installed at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows.  Additionally, plans call for an expansion of the resort's Hidden Springs leisure pool.

Effective October 26, 2015, the Hidden Springs pool, playground, fire pit, nature trail and resort beach will be closed to guests.  Bicycle rentals and resort spa services will also be suspended indefinitely.

The Silver Creek Springs main pool will remain open to guests during the construction.

Along with the planned bungalows, rumors suggest that Disney is in the early stages of converting some Wilderness Lodge hotel rooms to Disney Vacation Club villas.  If true, the hotel-to-villa conversion would allow Disney to sell additional ownership interest in the Wilderness Lodge timeshare.  It is not known whether this offering would join the current Wilderness Lodge condominium association or become an entirely separate legal entity.
