Great Ceremonial House Refurb Moving Swiftly

Crews are not wasting any time as they begin refurbishment work at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

Less than a month ago, Disney revealed that the Polynesian would be subject to a variety of upgrades an enhancements in the coming months. The Great Ceremonial House is now partially closed as renovations to the port cochere begin in earnest. As displayed in the photo below from WDWMagic.com, several exterior support beams from the original structure have already been removed.

In the coming months, the 49-year old main entrance will be transformed to mirror concept art displayed above. 

The resort's monorail station remains operational at this time, but is scheduled to be shut down starting November 2, 2020. Disney Vacation Club villa rooms are open to members, however the resort's 400+ hotel rooms will remain closed until the summer of 2021 as the undergo interior renovations. 

Check-in services have been relocated to the Pago Pago building adjacent to the guest self-parking lot. Check out WDW News Today for photos of the new check-in facilities and other modifications currently implemented throughout the resort.
