Hotel rooms and Disney Vacation Club villas at Disney's BoardWalk Inn & Villas are next in line for renovations at Walt Disney World.
Back in March 2022, Disney revealed plans to renovate guest rooms and public spaces at Disney's BoardWalk Inn & Villas. The announcement did not reveal any specific timeframe. However a new notice published on Disney websites suggests work may begin sooner rather than later. The text reads:
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn & Villas is being refurbished, with new offerings, plus updates coming to our Guest rooms, lobby and more. Please note that while most hotel amenities will remain available, you may be able to see and hear construction during daytime hours. Additionally, please allow for additional travel time.
The notice is not linked to any specific travel dates, nor does it specify exactly when work is slated to occur.
The March '22 announcement revealed that The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers would debut on Disney's BoardWalk sometime in 2023. The sweet shop and cafe is being added to the space formerly occupied by ESPN Club.
In September, BoardWalk Deli opened with an expanded dining menu, following the closure of long time fixture BoardWalk Bakery.
Renovations to the resort itself are said to feature "light and airy touches" designed to "[carry] the seaside breeze right inside." A new coffee bar will be added during the updates, offering small food items with both indoor and outdoor seating. In keeping with Disney Vacation Club's schedule of renovating about every seven years, rooms at Disney's BoardWalk Villas are due for a full refurbishment in 2023 or 2024.
