An article in today's Honolulu Star Bulletin reports on a rumored link between The Walt Disney Company and the Ko Olina Resort & Marina.
According to the article by Kristen Consillio an unidentified Honolulu broker claimed that The Walt Disney Company is nearing a deal with island developer Ko Olina. According to the article:
"Disney representatives have told the Star-Bulletin that Hawaii is on the list of places the company's Parks and Resorts unit is scouting for potential new hotels.
"'We've got nothing to announce today, but clearly Hawaii as well as other geographies are attractive markets for us as we look for ways to grow our business,' said Disney spokeswoman Lisa Haines."
There is no direct mention of DVC in the article (aside from a sidebar piece), but some DVC component would seem logical given that it would go a long way toward cost-justifying a project not located near one of the two domestic theme park complexes.
