Ten days after all 2020 availability was abruptly removed from Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - Jambo House, rooms are again open for Disney Vacation Club reservations.
On the afternoon of June 1, villa availability for Jambo House was universally removed from the DVC member website. Across nearly a dozen different room types and views, no villas were available to book by owners through December 31, 2020.
Just as unexpectedly, Jambo is again available to book with many room nights available as early as June 22, the day Disney Vacation Club resorts at Walt Disney World are scheduled to reopen.
Even the highly sought-after Value and Kilimanjaro Club Concierge rooms are readily available for many dates. Note that Disney has announced concierge services will not immediately be offered at cash hotels, casting some doubt on whether the lounge and food offerings will actually be provided as resorts reopen.
We can only speculate on the reasons for Jambo House availability being removed and later returned. Reports indicate that the National Basketball Association is still working with Disney to finalize housing destinations for its personnel. Perhaps Jambo House was considered for an NBA site, and has since been eliminated from the discussions.
Major League Soccer today announced details regarding its month-long tournament at Disney's Wide World of Sports. Players and staff will reportedly be housed at Walt Disney World Dolphin and Swan resorts.
