There have been a number of recent developments concerning the vacant plot of land between the Wedding Pavilion and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, all of which point toward construction of more Disney Vacation Club villas.

While the future of Disney's resort development in the National Harbor area of Maryland remains stalled, DreamWorks Animation has partnered with Gaylord Hotels to bring its own characters to the area.

The Orlando Sentinel and Orlando-based NBC affiliate WESH agree that a Disney Vacation Club addition to the Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa appears likely.
