Add the childcare center from Disney's Grand Californian Hotel to the list of casualties.
Pinocchio's Playhouse, the supervised child care facility at the Grand Californian, is now permanently closed. This mirrors upcoming closures at Walt Disney World resorts, with all child care centers scheduled to close by July 2018.
The centers offered supervised care for children up to age 12. Disney Cast Members would coordinate arts & crafts activities, movie viewings, board games, video games and more. Food service was typically offered during meal times.
Disney claims the closer is due to reduced demand for the facilities.
The space will reportedly be used for an expansion of the resort's fitness center. In 2014, the Eureka Fitness Center expanded into the space which previously housed the Grizzly Game Arcade.
