Old Key West Booking Categories Now In Place

Old Key West Resort

Last fall the Disney Vacation Club reported that it was creating a separate booking category at Disney's Old Key West Resort.  This category would enable members to guarantee placement in a room near the Hospitality House at the time the reservation is secured, pending availability of course.  Now it appears this change has been fully implemented.

DVC now reports that the new category has been created and existing reservations with requests to be placed "near the Hospitality House" have been converted to the new category.  Members can log onto DVCMember.com and view existing reservations to confirm whether DVC was able to place them in such a room.

The new category includes units in buildings 11 to 14 and 23 to 26.  Those booked into the new category are guaranteed a room in one of these buildings.  Those without the guaranteed "Hospitality House" category will be placed elsewhere.

Note that while buildings 62 to 64 are also close to the Hospitality House, they have been set aside for use by guests with special needs.  Much of Old Key West was constructed prior to the advent of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and thus the buildings are not easily accessible by those with mobility issues.  Buildings 62, 63 and 64 are the only ones in the complex that contain elevators.

The number of points required per night for a room in the Hosptiality House category are identical to rooms in other areas of the resort.
