On the surface, the elegant European theming of Disney's Riviera Resort may seem a bit unremarkable. However, that doesn't mean it lacks the unique Disney touches guests have come to love.
One aspect I enjoy about a Disney resort is discovering the Disney elements within the rooms. Sometimes the level of Disney in the decor can spark debates. I am happy to say Disney's Riviera is chock full of magical references.
Let's start with the Deluxe Studio room. As you walk past the bathroom and kitchenette area, turn to the wall adjacent to the bed to see a poster for a "Mademoiselle Mouse" concert. The foreground features Mickey and Minnie but look at the background - you'll see silhouettes of Goofy, Donald and friends.
The bed that pulls down underneath the television has become a common spot for Disney-themed artwork. Here Pascal is featured in a colorful display with other cute animals, who all appear to be sleeping.
The larger pull-down bed (that doubles as a sofa) features a nod to Disney's 101 Dalmatians, with a pack of dalmatians gathered around an old TV set.
A smaller Disney touch can be found on the railing of the balcony. Just underneath the railing's top is a series of Mickeys spanning the length of the balcony.
Don't count out the bathroom in the villa. The shower curtain's pattern includes a series of Mickeys toward the bottom.
The One Bedroom villa contains even more Disney flare than the Deluxe Studio. As you sit at the dinner table you'll see a framed piece showing a familiar looking rat enjoying the apples of an apple pie.
The sofa area contains quite a bit of Disney. The most noticeable of which is the series of art work above the sofa. To the left is a piece with a Renaissance Fair style Mickey & Minnie embracing outside the "Ye Tailor" shop. Up and to the right is an abstract-mosaic version of Beauty & the Beast characters. Below that is pair of Mickey and Minnie outlines.
If you pull down the bed, you'll see a scene from Peter Pan. Wendy, Michael, and John are flying, with Peter off in the background.
The sofa itself is adorned with a vibrantly colored throw pillow and in the center is an outline of the iconic Mickey head.
In this villa the pull-down bed beneath the television features Mickey and Pluto lounging on a balcony overlooking a coastal European Riviera city.
What do you think - does the Riviera have the right amount of Disney elements in these villas?
