Guests can now order a take-home replica of the famous "Walk Around the World" pavers located near the Magic Kingdom with a unique design just for Disney Vacation Club owners.
Earlier this year Disney announced that the "Walk Around the World" bricks would soon be removed from Walt Disney World. Originally sold in the 1990s, these pavers allowed Disney guests to leave behind a (semi) permanent reminder of their cherished family vacation.
Disney committed to leave the bricks in place at least through the year 2011. Almost 8 years later, Disney is finalizing plans to remove all of the bricks as they redevelop walkways in the Seven Seas Lagoon area. But guests have the opportunity to take home a replica of their customzed paver.
ShopDisney.com is currently accepting orders for clay replica pavers in 8", 6" and 3.5" ornament sizes.
Replicas are customized with up to 3 lines of text plus a date. Six logo images are available including Mickey Mouse, a wedding/anniversary emblem and even a Disney Vacation Club notation. Prices range from $24.99 for the ornament up to $49.99 for the 8" paver (plus tax and shipping.) However, individuals who purchased a brick at Walt Disney World are eligible to receive the 6" replica for just $10.
