Moonlight Magic, Epcot Lounge Return for 2019

Disney Vacation Club has announced that two of its signature member perks will return in 2019.

Disney Vacation Club Epcot Lounge

The private members-only lounge located above Epcot's Imagination Pavilion will remain open throughout 2019.  The lounge originally debuted in 2016 as part of Disney Vacation Club's 25th anniversary celebration. Inside, members will find a semi-private spot to relax away from the heat, recharge their electronic devices and grab a complimentary snack.

Also returning are the exclusive members-only evenings at select Disney parks dubbed Moonlight Magic.

Expanding to a new high of 14 nights in 2018, Moonlight Magic provides complimentary access to a variety of Disney theme parks and waterparks with minimal wait time for attractions. Free food and refreshments are also provided, along with unique character meet-and-greet opportunities, dance parties and more.

Check out our coverage of the 2018 Moonlight Magic event at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon waterpark. The next event is scheduled for the night of August 15 at Epcot

Specific 2019 dates for Moonlight Magic have not yet been revealed.

Moonlight Magic and the Epcot lounge are available only to members (and their traveling party) who qualify for DVC's Membership Magic perks programs.  Effective April 4, 2016, new members must own a minimum of 25 points purchased direct from Disney Vacation Club in order to quality. On February 25, 2018 that threshold was raised to 75 direct purchase points

The Epcot DVC lounge is very popular with many members. It is nice that they are continuing it.

I am looking forward to the Moonlight Magic 2019 dates to see if they match our vacation plans.

I am happy to see they are continuing these into 2019! Each trip we always try to spend a little time at the Lounge, and the Moonlight Magic events look like a lot of fun. I also hope they continue some of the other new offerings like the Beverage Tasting Series, Painting Class, Soarin' Member Tour, etc... all of which are only through end of 2018 right now.

I'm just a little disappointed there is not more information about the dates for Moonlight Magic ahead of time (or info about these other events). It seems to be a common trend with Disney (not just DVC) the last few years to announce things pretty late in the year, beyond the time when it is really feasible to change plans anymore, especially for trips earlier in the year. Last year the dates for the Jan/Feb Moonlight Magic Events weren't released until late November... long after we had flights, rooms, and dining booked, and even after we had made our FP+. As we sit today almost exactly half of 2019 can already be booked at DVC Home Resorts, and all of January & February are bookable by everyone, and filling up fast.

I love that they do all these things, I just wish they would give us a little more time to actually plan for them, since right now it ends up more luck of the draw if your trip happens to line up.

This is great news we love a quick break at the lounge. Because we are from the UK we plan our trips well in advance flights already booked for Oct 2019, so hopefully that will coincide with a MM event as we have not had chance to try one yet. Fingers cross but if not hey we will be at Disney..

I attended the moonlight magic at Epcot and it was wonderful. We were given a voucher to pick up a meal. When we attended at Disneyland last year there was no FOOD or voucher given. Additionally, Disney should announce Moonlight magic dates earlier so that we can plan to be in Disney World. We just got lucky that our plans happen to fall on the date for Epcot in July.

We were lucky enough to be at Disney in January of this year for the Moonlight Magic event that was held in the MK. It down poured all night but we still felt lucky to attend the event. We enjoy going up to the DVC lounge for a break and recharge while in Epcot. I wish they came around with snacks more often when you're there but it's always appreciated when we get a little snack.
