Monthly Sales Update for September 2014

Financial News & Pricing

After a very slow month for sales in August 2014, Disney Vacation Club point sales rebounded in September. Led by a 36.8% increase in sales for the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, 128,897 points were sold in September 2014, 19.1% more than the prior month. Despite the increase, sales in September were well below the 153,356 points that sales have averaged over the previous 12 months.

Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa -- With 87,041 points sold in September 2014, the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian has now sold 66.74% of its 2.5 million points. Taking into account the 2% that Disney Vacation Development must retain for itself, there are 787,995 points remaining that can be sold to the general public. It would take just over 9 months for the Grand Floridian to be completely sold out if sales were to continue at the same rate as in September.

DVC Direct Sales - September 2014

The Grand Floridian and Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas are the only two Disney Vacation Club resorts that offer Fixed Week deeds in addition to traditional points. In September 2014, six Fixed Week deeds were sold, bringing to 239 the total number of Fixed Week deeds sold for the Grand Floridian. So far, Fixed Week deeds account for only 5.0% of the points sold, well below the 35% cap that Disney Vacation Development stated would be the maximum that it might sell.

Disney Vacation Development has declared 90.71% of the Grand Floridian for the DVC inventory. This means that on any given Use Day DVC members can book no more than 90.71% of the resort using points. There are still 10 two-bedroom vacation homes that are undeclared at the Grand Floridian.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas -- In September 2014, Disney Vacation Development sold 19,196 points for Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas. It also reacquired 8,251 points during the month due to foreclosures and exercising its Right of First Refusal on resale transactions.

Disney Vacation Development has sold over 7.1 million of Animal Kingdom Villas' 7.4 million points. Since DVD must retain at least 2% of the resort's points for itself, there are about 139,148 AKV points that can still be sold to the general public.

This sales data includes all eight DVC resorts at Walt Disney World, as well as Disney's Vero Beach Resort and Disney's Hilton Head IslandResort. Point sales data is not available for the Villas at Disney's Grand California Hotel or for Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas. The data is compiled from deeds filed by Disney Vacation Development and recorded with the Orange County (FL) Comptroller, the Indian River County (FL) Clerk of Court, and the Beaufort County (SC) Register of Deeds.
