The 15,000-square foot facility will include model rooms for Disney's Aulani Resort located on the Hawaiian island of Oahu.  Also included will be a supervised children's play area and multimedia presentations highlighting other destinations available within the Disney Vacation Club.

The Japanese tourist market has proven quite important to Hawai'i's economy.  According to the Hawai'i Tourism Authority, 1.1 million of the state's 6.4 million tourists (17%) in 2009 originated in Japan.  Japanese tourists average nearly 6 days per stay on the islands and spend quite a bit more than guests from other countries.  Total tourist spending in 2009 avereaged $163.00 per person, per day while visitors from Japan averaged $267.20 PPPD.

The Tokyo Disneyland sales center will open in the summer of 2010.  The first phase of Disney's Aulani Resort is scheduled to open in 2011.
