On the recently-completed 2008 Disney Vacation Club members-only cruise, it was announced that the 2009 cruise will sail for four nights beginning on September 13, 2009. Bookings will begin on November 2, 2008.
Read inside for a few details from the 2008 cruise.
One of the big benefits to attending a member cruise are the sales incentives offered. Posters on the DISBoards have provided information on some of the sales incentives offered this time around, as well as a general schedule of activities for partcipants.
This year's incentives are quite attractive, particularly in light of the recent Bay Lake Tower announcement and somewhat mediocre entry level incentives. Cruisers adding just 120 points were eligible to receive not only the $5 per point discount at Bay Lake but also an exclusive Mickey Big Fig statue and complimentary four nights in the new Treehouse Villas. Those incentives carry a value in the neighborhood of $1500 - 2000.
270 points netted a Category 6 stateroom for 2 on the 2009 Members-only cruise or 7 nights at the Contemporary, along with a $300 shipboard credit.
There are no guarantees as to the sort of incentives which will be offered on the 2009 cruise.
Those interested in the 2009 cruise are advised to be prepared to book on November 2nd. While the ship may not be completely sold-out to members on that date, certain cabin classes will almost certainly fill within a few hours of the phones opening.
