Member discounts replace DVC golf card

Member Benefits and Perks

As Arnold Palmer Golf Management continues to assume control of Walt Disney World's golf courses, one of the long-time Disney Vacation Club member discounts has been eliminated in favor of a new approach.

The DVC golf badge has been a staple of the member discount program for more than a decade.  With a concept similar to the Tables in Wonderland dining discount card, Disney Vacation Club members could purchase a year's worth of discounted golf for a fixed price--typically $50.  Just last month DVC promoted a reduced fee of $25 for the annual golf membership but now the card has been eliminated altogether.

In its place is a broad discount of "up to 35% off" normal rates available to Disney Vacation Club members and their guests without need for a card purchase.  The discount is available for all tee times prior to the daily Twilight rates (2:00 or 3:00pm) and applies to the DVC member plus up to three guests.  Guests may be required to pay an additional $10 fee after the discount has been applied.

The exact discount amount will vary by course, tee time, season and other factors.  Contact 407-WDW-GOLF for tee times and discounted course rates.

Arnold Palmer Golf Management the Disney team are working to build on a Disney golf tradition that began with the vacation kingdom's opening in 1971. Highly regarded for its excellent course conditions, pace of play, service standards and player development, Arnold Palmer Golf Management and parent company Century Golf Partners maintain a portfolio of more than 70 courses nationwide, including about 30 private clubs.

The long-term alliance with Disney (through which Arnold Palmer Golf Management has operated, managed, maintained and promoted Disney's five courses since Sept. 25, 2011) calls for the golf legend to lend his vision to strategic and innovative design enhancements to the Disney courses. Palmer and his team are busy working on the master plan for those changes, which will materialize during the next three years.

The Walt Disney World courses include Disney's Palm and Magnolia Courses (both of which opened with the resort in 1971), Disney's Lake Buena Vista Course (near Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa), Disney's Osprey Ridge Course (scheduled to transition to Four Seasons Resort Orlando next summer as part of a new luxury resort slated to open by 2014) and Disney's Oak Trail Course (a nine-hole walking course). All five scenic courses are certified as Cooperative Wildlife Sanctuaries by Audubon International.

Members can save up to 35% off Resort Guest golf rates for Disney Vacation Club Members age 18 years and older on Disney's four championship 18-hole courses. The discounted rates will remain in place from the first tee time each morning and continuing all day until Twilight rates begin at either 2:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m., depending on the time of year.

Disney Vacation Club Members may bring up to three additional players with them, and those Guests will receive the DVC Member rate or the Member rate plus $10, depending on the time of year. DVC "juniors" will also play at half the discount adult day rates, all day long (ages 17 and younger) —Twilight times are included*.
