October 2015 sales update: Polynesian sales remain stable

In October 2015, overall direct sales of Disney Vacation Club points fell 8.1% to 105,102 points, compared to the previous month.

Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, the only Walt Disney World DVC resort currently being actively marketed, also fell 2.6% compared to the previous month. Despite the slight drop in sales, the Polynesian accounted for over three-fourths of the total points sold in October 2015.

Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, the only other DVC resort that is currently being marketed, is not included in the sales data for October. Sales data for Aulani has only been updated through September 2015 by the Hawaii Bureau of Conveyances; thus, Aulani’s October sales cannot be included at this time.

Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows — Since sales began in January 2015, the Polynesian have averaged 76,610 points a month, ranging from a low of 44,582 points (April 2015) to a high of 107,067 points (June 2015). In October 2015, 80,712 points were sold for the Polynesian, 2.6% less than in September but still above the monthly average.

So far, a total of 702,639 points have been sold for the Polynesian, which is about 17.4% of its total points. If the Polynesian continue at its current average rate, it will take about 43 months before the resort is sold out.

Sales of Guaranteed Week deeds continue at the Polynesian Villas, but at a very slow rate. In the first three months of sales, 53 Guaranteed Week deeds were sold. In the last three months, only three such deeds have been sold, including two in October. A total of 79 Guaranteed Week deeds have been sold for the Polynesian: 42 deeds for Lake View studios; 26 deeds for Standard View studios; and 11 deeds for the over-the-water bungalows.

Disney Vacation Development has declared 10 bungalows and 142 studios for the DVC inventory, which accounts for 40.71% of the Polynesian’s total points. There are still 218 studios and 10 more bungalows that have not yet been declared and are controlled by DVD.



Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa -- In January 2015, Disney Vacation Development sold 139,150 points for the Grand Floridian. Now that it is considered to be sold out, only a handful of deeds are being sold each month. In October, only 820 points were sold for the Grand Floridian, the fewest since sales began in May 2013. Based on recorded sales through September, Disney Vacation Development has only 6,318 Grand Floridian points that it can still sell to the general public.

Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas — Sales data for October 2015 for Aulani is not yet available. However, in September, 133,905 points were sold which is the second highest monthly total for any DVC resort in the past 12 months. Over the last year, Aulani has sold an average of 72,196 points a month.

Boosted by sales for Aulani, Disney Vacation Development recorded 248,228 points sold in September 2015. This was the highest number of points sold in 2015 since 294,902 points were sold in March 2015.

The sales data includes all nine DVC resorts at Walt Disney World, as well as Disney's Vero Beach Resort, Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort, and Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas. Point sales data is not available for the Villas at Disney's Grand California Hotel. The data is compiled from deeds filed by Disney Vacation Development and recorded with the Orange County (FL) Comptroller, the Indian River County (FL) Clerk of Court, the Beaufort County (SC) Register of Deeds, and the Hawaii Bureau of Conveyances.
