DVCNews Debates: New amenity

Hotels and timeshares often tweak and adjust their room setups to meet changing customer tastes.  A decade ago refrigerators and microwaves were luxuries.  Today they can be found in even moderately-priced accommodations.

Today some of the more luxurious offerings include fitness equipment, DVRs, large flat-panel TVs, Keurig coffee makers and more.  Disney Vacation Club chose to include rice cookers among the in-room amenities at the Aulani villas.  Most newer DVC villas feature an additional bathroom.

DVCNews Debates: Consistency vs. Flexibility

Disney is often criticized for inconsistent answers to guest questions and policy enforcement.  On topics such as eligibility for DVC shopping & dining discounts, qualifications to visit the Top of the World Lounge and whether non-guests can join friends for a day at the resort pool, conflicting responses are often received from Cast Members.

But with consistency often comes a lack of flexibility.  If policies are to be rigidly communicated and enforced, no exceptions are possible regardless of the circumstances.

Topic: Would you prefer that Disney be consistent in policy enforcement or allow room for some flexibility?

All Disney Vacation Club villas have a full kitchen or a kitchenette.  With such facilities available, guests can shave a few dollars off of their vacation budgets by preparing meals in the room.

DVCNews Debates: Bathrooms

In 2009 Disney Vacation Club surprised many owners by increasing the number of bathrooms in new villa designs.  Kidani Village and Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort were the first properties with two full bathrooms in a One Bedroom Villa and three in a Two Bedroom Villa.

Since then, Disney Vacation Club has eliminated the additional bath at more recent developments--Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas and the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort.
