DVCNews Debates: Better than expected

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesWhen making an initial Disney Vacation Club purchase, it is unavoidable for one to make certain assumptions.  Those assumptions may include guesses as to which resort will prove to be a favorite, what sort of availability one will find when calling to make reservations and how easy it is to trade for a non-DVC destination.

DVCNews Debates: Advance planning

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesSome of the most satisfied Disney Vacation Club members appear to be those who are long-term planners.  With each DVC resort having a limited number of villas and even fewer with specific views or catgories, those who secure their reservations the earliest are most likely to get what they want.

As such, many members will have their intentended vacation dates and resorts mapped out years in advance.  Being prepared to call exactly 7 or 11 months in advance to secure a reservation will always yield the greatest success.

DVCNews Debates: Shortest time between trips

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesOne of the obvious benefits to Disney Vacation Club ownership is the ability to schedule frequent trips without incurring the often high costs of a cash stay.  With members being able to book up to 11 months prior to check in, it isn't uncommon for members to have multiple trips planned at once.

DVCNews Debates: DVC vs residency

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesGiven adequate resouces (cash) it is possible to own enough Disney Vacation Club points to stay in a villa for weeks or months at a time.  Of course, one must still deal with issues of 11/7 month bookings and the challenges of living out of a glorified hotel room.

Another option is to purchase a condo or other vacation property in the Orlando area for use as desired.  Unfortunately this does not quite provide the full Disney resort hotel experience.
