DVCNews Debates: One trip for 2011

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesDisney has such a wide range of vacation destinations.  There are two theme park/resort complexes in the US alone, along with numerous international parks.  Disney Cruise Line is set to launch its third ship soon with construction beginning on a fourth.  Adventures by Disney offers a vast array of vacation experiences around the world.

Fortunately Disney Vacaction Club ownership gives many the means to pick and choose among these experiences.  But what if you had to choose just one...

DVCNews Debates: 2010 vacation memories

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesAs the year comes to a close, it is a good time to reflect back on 2010.  Many Disney Vacation Club members find that the timeshare comcept allows them to vacation in a much different manner than in the past.  Owners find themselves vacationing more frequently, staying in larger rooms, booking more luxurious room categories (concierge, better view) and even treating family members to a free or low-cost trip.

DVCNews Debates: Monorail expansion

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesSome Walt Disney World resorts have drawn criticism for their remote nature--particularly resorts like Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas, Old Key West and Saratoga Springs.  One potential solution to that issue is extending the monorail to service the additional resorts.

Unfortunatly, extending the monorail is a costly venture in which Disney has shown little interest.  But perhaps the collective resources of Disney Vacation Club members could ease the burden somewhat.

Topic:  Should Disney Vacation Club consider funding a monorail extension to one or more additional resorts?  As an owner, is there a limit to what you would be willing to pay for such an expansion?

DVCNews Debates: Which resort needs DVC?

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesDisney Vacation Club has made a habit of adding villas to existing resort hotels--particularly at Walt Disney World.  But there are still many Disney resorts which are not home to villa units.

For instance, the bargain-priced Moderate and Value resorts in Florida have no villas.  Then there are the beloved Polynesian and Grand Floridian Resorts, as well as the under-appreciated Yacht Club.  Perhaps more villas would be welcome out in California or at one of the Disney parks overseas.

DVCNews Debates: Worse than expected

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesLast week we asked for examples of ways in which Disney Vacation Club ownership has proven to be better than anticipated.  Now let's look at the other end of the spectrum.  Have you encountered disappointments related to the accommodations, housekeeping, DVC program guidelines, etc.?  Is there too much advance planning required?  Is the total cost of ownership greater than anticipated?
