Hawaii has proven to be a popular vacation destination for US residents and even residents of many international countries. While an Aulani point purchase may not be right for all Disney Vacation Club members, many will undoubtedly use their existing point holdings for an occasional visit to the islands.
While it often is not fair to compare and contrast Disney Vacation Club resorts, Disney's Beach Club and BoardWalk Villas share many similarities. The nightly point costs for both are similar, as well as the villa layout, decor, location, transportation options and so on.
Disney Vacation Club point usage can be difficult to track--particularly for members with multiple contracts which may span numerous Home resorts and even different Use Years. Fortunately there are a number of tracking options ranging from computer programs to smartphone apps to Excel spreadsheets. Even a pencil and paper can get the job done.
Disney Vacation Club allows members to include some room criteria requests on their reservation. Popular requests inlcude a certain floor of the hotel (ground vs. upper), a geographic area of the resort or a villa close to some resort landmark. Requests are not guaranteed and members report varying degrees of success when including a request on their reservation.
