mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesIt has been more than a full year since Disney Vacation Club reallocated the nightly point values for each resort.  Beginning with the 2010 charts, the cost for weekend nights went down while weeknights increased.  Additional adjustments were implemented for 2011 stays. 


Topic:  Did the 2010 and 2011 point reallocations prompt any changes to how you use your points?

DVCNews Debates: Parking abuse

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesSeveral Disney Vacation Club resorts have gained notoriety for their value to guests looking to avoid daily parking fees. Guests who are able to sweet-talk their way past resort security or walk from nearby complimentary lots can easily use resort buses, boats or even walk to many theme park locations.  Most of the parking lots, buses and boat are funded by DVC member dues.  


Topic:  What--if anything--should Disney do to address these issues of abuse?

DVCNews Debates: Welcome Home!

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesThe phrase "Welcome Home" has long been associated with Disney Vacation Club.  It has served as both a marketing slogan and a greeting to welcome timeshare owners to their Home Away From Home.  But over the years its use (abuse?) has grown to the point where both DVC members and non-members arriving at any Disney resort are often greeted with a Welcome Home!


Topic:  Does hearing the words "Welcome Home" conjure magical images or has it become just another cliched tagline from a company fameous for them?

DVCNews Debates: One Time Use points

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesAbout a year ago Disney Vacation Club introduced the concept of One Time Use points.  For a small fee, members could purchase up to 24 points per year to help complete a reservation.  As the name implies, these points could only be used once but they come at a fraction of the cost of a typical add-on point purchase. 


Topic:  Have you purchased--or do you plan to purchase--One Time Use points?  Why or why not?

DVCNews Debates: Most romantic resort

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesAlthough the Disney theme parks and resorts are most often viewed as family vacation destinations, they are also popular among those without young children.  Among the features which appeal to adults are the lush health spas, gourmet restaurants and secluded locales of some Disney resorts.
